HC Deb 27 February 1928 vol 214 c33
64. Mr. HARRIS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, seeing that the Abyssinian Government has reported to the League of Nations the imprisonment during the last three years of 187 slave traders, he is in a position to say whether any of the acts of slave-trading for which these traders were sentenced were committed in British territory?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

So far as His Majesty's Government are aware, none of the acts in question were committed in British territory, and no British subjects were involved, either as slave traders or their victims.
