HC Deb 03 December 1928 vol 223 c838
33. Mr. PILCHER

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that certain approved societies are refusing to treat owners of part-share fishing boats as insurable persons under the provisions of the National Health Insurance Act, 1928; whether, in view of the Amendments of the principal Act expressly made by this year's Act in favour of part-share fishermen, he proposes to include these persons in the Orders provided for by the National Health Insurance Act, 1928; and when the Orders will be issued?

Sir K. WOOD

As regards the first part of the question, I may point out that the question of insurability under the Act of 1928 cannot arise until the Act comes into force on the 1st January next. On that date share-fishermen, including owners or part-owners of the boats, will become insurable, and the necessary Order will be issued during the present month.
