§ 63. Mr. STEPHENasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the amount spent on armaments in this country and France, respectively, in 1926–27?
§ Mr. McNEILLExcluding loan charges and non-effective services, the estimated expenditure on Navy, Army and Air Services in 1926–27 was about £99,500,000. I believe the expenditure of France on these items in 1926 was about 6,950 million francs; but I do not know how far these figures are strictly comparable.
