HC Deb 01 June 1927 vol 207 c376
39. Mr. REMER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, if he is aware that much disappointment is caused to the general public because the chapel of the Pyx, in Westminster Abbey, is not made available to them; and if, seeing that this chapel is not under the control of the Dean of Westminster, but under the control of the Office of Works, he will give instructions for this chapel to be made available to visitors to the Abbey?

Captain HACKING

The Pyx Chapel is open to the public on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and the public interest in it is not considered sufficient to justify the cost of opening it every day.
