40. Mr. GREENE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware that, in the Worcester tax office, the floor spaces are insufficient considering the size of the staff employed and the number of presses used; that the larger portion of the women's lavatory is used as a storeroom; that the men's lavatory is similarly used; that artificial lighting has to be employed throughout the year; that the artificial lighting is insufficient and that reflectors have been asked for and refused; and will be inquire into the circumstances and take steps to remedy such faults as may be proved to exist, in the interest of the health and efficiency of the staff?

The First Commissioner is aware that complaints have been made in regard to the Worcester tax office. These complaints are being investigated, and I will communicate the result to the hon. Member in due course.
