HC Deb 10 February 1927 vol 202 c295
79. Miss WILKINSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the cost of equipping the "Renown" for the reception of the Duke and Duchess of York; and the estimated cost of the tour that will fall upon the Navy Estimates?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Bridgeman)

The cost of equipping the "Renown" for the accommodation of the Duke and Duchess of York and suite is estimated at £5,000, and the total extra cost falling on Navy Votes through the use of the ship for the tour, on the assumption that she would otherwise have remained with the Atlantic Fleet, including the extra steaming and canal harbour aryl docking charges, is £66,000.

Colonel DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman tell us whether the cost of the marine who had a course in ladies hairdressing will come out of public funds?
