HC Deb 04 April 1927 vol 204 cc1685-6
61. Sir B. PETO

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give any information with regard to the arrest of Captain II. L. Pritchard, master of the British steamer "Fred Cleeves," who was arrested at Melilla, Morocco, by the local maritime authorities; whether he can state the reason for his arrest; and whether he has been released and this vessel allowed to proceed?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir Austen Chamberlain)

His Majesty's Consul at Malaga has reported by telegram that, according to the Spanish authorities at Melilla, Captain Pritchard left that place in his ship on the 24th of March. I am awaiting a full report from His Majesty's Consul of the circumstances of Captain Pritchard's arrest.
