HC Deb 04 April 1927 vol 204 c1671
29. Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in a position to make any further statement with regard to the recent disturbances in Singapore and to the present conditions prevailing there?

Mr. AMERY

The Governor has reported that the inquest is still proceeding and is not expected to end until the 7th or 8th April. In the meantime, I am not in a position to make any further statement as to the disturbances of 12th March. I may say, however, that the situation is reported to be much improved and now practically normal.
