HC Deb 04 April 1927 vol 204 cc1671-2
30. Sir WALTER de FRECE

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in connection with the Canadian old age pensions scheme, any request has been received from the Canadian Government that negotiations shall be entered into with a view to Great Britain advancing pensions due to British pensioners who may have emigrated to Canada?

Mr. AMERY

The possibility of reciprocal arrangements between the various parts of the Empire in regard to old age pension schemes was considered by the Oversea Settlement Sub-Committee of the Imperial Conference, and it is hoped shortly to address a communication to the Governments of the Dominions. No communication has been received from the Canadian Government on this subject.
