HC Deb 22 June 1926 vol 197 c249
Dr. WATTS

(by Private Notice) asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the notice on the Order Paper regarding the case of Louie Calvert, who is under sentence of death, and whether it is true that this woman is in a state of pregnancy?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir William Joynson-Hicks)

The statement in the Notice of Motion is mistaken. Any doubt which may have existed as to this prisoner's condition has since been dispelled, and it is now certain that there was no pregnancy.
