HC Deb 04 May 1925 vol 183 c572
34. Mr. C. WILSON (for Mr. LUNN)

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether the fellowship, which was established in connection with the British Empire Exhibition, has published its accounts for 1924; and, if so, can he give any information whether or not the scholarship scheme has materialised and to what extent?

Mr. SAMUEL

I am informed by the British Empire Exhibition that an audited statement of accounts of the Fellowship of the British Empire Exhibition to the 1st November, 1924, has been circulated to members of the Fellowship. The statement shows that out of a total revenue of £50,216, the sum of £8,964 has already been paid into the Scholarship Trust Fund Account, and that there are further sums to come to the credit of the Fund, the bulk of which is to be used in giving agricultural training to young people and settling them overseas.
