asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the low percentage of electors voting at county council elections; and whether, in view of the fact that large numbers of electors are unable to return to their homes from their work before eight o'clock in the evening, he will introduce legislation allowing for the extension of the hours of poll at the request of candidates, similar to that prevailing for Parliamentary elections?

I have been asked to reply, but I have no details as to the percentage of electors who voted at the county council elections, and I am not aware of any general demand for legislation such as the hon. Member suggests
