HC Deb 29 July 1925 vol 187 c433
67. Mr. B. PETO

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the fact that Lundy Island is offered for sale; and whether he will take steps to prevent the sale to any person not a British subject or to any person acting as agent for any foreign government?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The pur chase of Lundy by an alien or any person acting as agent for a foreign Government would not affect in any way the jurisdiction exercisable over the island, and in the circumstances I do not think that any action is required by His Majesty's Government.
