HC Deb 29 July 1925 vol 187 c405
12. Mr. FORREST

asked the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the Honan coal mines of the Peking Syndicate are still closed; and whether, seeing that the Chinese Government has offered full protection, he will say why the mines are not re-opened?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

My latest information on this subject is to the effect that the managing director of the mines, accompanied by an official from the Chinese Foreign Office, has left for Honan in order to arrange for the re-opening of the pits.
