HC Deb 22 July 1925 vol 186 c2210
82. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is aware that foreign growers export produce to consignees in England in large quantities, and that English growers often supply their customers direct in small quantities; and if he will make representations to the authorities concerned with a view to keeping the railway rates of fruit and vegetables below one hundredweight as low as possible with a view of helping the home grower?

Sir H. BARNSTON

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend will gladly bring this matter to the notice of his right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport, with a view to seeing whether any action is possible in the direction indicated.
