HC Deb 17 December 1925 vol 189 c1605
39. Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Home Secretary whether he proposes to require that voluntary associations receiving grants for probation work under the Criminal Justice Bill shall keep separate accounts of sums spent on probation and on their other activities; and whether the detailed expenditure of such grants will be open to inspection and audit by the Treasury?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

These matters will be considered in connection with the regulations to be made under the Criminal Justice Bill when it becomes law. I cannot state at present the precise method which will be adopted for checking the expenditure of public money.
