HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 c1926
100. Mr. SPENCE

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is aware that the holdings of ex-service men engaged in the hen-farming industry in Berwickshire have been ravished by foxes; and will he undertake to amend the law, whereby foxes shall be classified as vermin and compulsorily destroyed in areas where ex-service men are placed on holdings of this nature?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. Adamson)

I have been asked to reply. One case in which it is represented that a smallholder's poultry has been raided by a fox has been brought to my notice. I will consider whether any amendment of the law is expedient and practicable.

Mr. SPENCE

In View of the interest taken in the House in the question of ex-service men, I should like to appeal to my right hon. Friend—

Mr. SPEAKER

Another time.
