HC Deb 10 March 1924 vol 170 cc1925-6
98. Mr. WILLISON

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that the Public Works Loan Board, in dealing with applications for loans under the Agricultural Credits Act, 1903, make it a condition of granting the loan that loans should not be granted to individuals who are not solely engaged in farming; and whether, since there is no authority under the Act for this condition, he will take steps to prevent such a condition being imposed?

Mr. GRAHAM

I am making inquiry of the Public Works Loan Commissioners and will communicate the result to the hon. Member in due course.

99. Mr. WILLISON

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether any loans have been advanced by any approved societies under Section 1 of the Agricultural Credits Act, 1923; and, if so, how many and for what amount?

Mr. GRAHAM

I have no information as to advances made by approved associations under the Section referred to. No applications have yet been received from the societies for loans.
