HC Deb 07 July 1924 vol 175 c1780
87. Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the right hon. Member for Tiverton, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, if he will state the exact districts in which afforestation subsidised by the State is now being carried on; and whether he will give the allocation of money in respect to each such scheme?

Mr. ACLAND (for the Forestry Commissioners)

As the Forestry Commissioners do not allocate money in advance to particular districts, I can only give the total expenditure on each of the Commission's estates up to the end of the last forest year, 30th September last. I will, with the hon. Member's permission, have maps prepared showing the position of each of the areas, with particulars of the plantable acreage and the total direct expenditure (excluding the cost of purchase or leasing) up to the date mentioned, and will endeavour to arrange that the maps be placed in the Tea Room.
