HC Deb 05 July 1923 vol 166 cc588-9
18. Captain DIXON

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware that there is a large accumulation of appeals to the pensions appeal tribunals at present awaiting hearing in the Ulster region; if he will say on what date the new tribunals which have just been appointed will begin work; and what other steps he proposes to take to overtake the arrears of appeals there existing?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Bridgeman)

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply which was given on 26th June to the hon. Member for Belfast South (Mr. Moles). I hope that the new tribunals will begin work at once, and that they will be able rapidly to overtake the existing arrears. I do not anticipate that any further steps for overtaking arrears will be necessary.
