53. Mr. T. THOMSONasked the Prime Minister how soon he will be able to announce the decision of the Government with regard to their consideration of the extreme hardships at present inflicted upon necessitous areas by the working of the five weeks' gap period in the Unemployment Insurance Act; and whether he can expedite matters so that remedial measures may be undertaken promptly to relieve the increasing financial difficulties of these areas?
