asked the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that the Seva Samiti, social service society, of Allahabad, which is distributing relief to the families of the killed and wounded in the Punjab, spent several weeks in Amritsar and the surrounding villages collecting the names of the killed and wounded only in the Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar; that they compiled a list of 530 killed and 200 wounded on that one occa- sion; and that Mr. Thompson admitted 291 were killed there, as shown by the Deputy-Commissioner's list, who may not have searched the surrounding villages which sent men to the meeting; and whether, in View of tie discrepancy, between these figures and those given by the Government, be Will order a further inquiry to be Made?

I was not aware of the exact statistics compiled by the Seva Samiti; but the Committee of Inquiry under Lord Hunter's chairmanship is inquiring into the facts.
