HC Deb 28 May 1919 vol 116 cc1220-1
64 and 65. Lieut.-Colonel A. MURRAY

asked the Lord Privy Seal (1) whether His Majesty's Government is aware of the importance of an appointment being made to the vacant post of His Majesty's Ambassador at Washington; whether an appointment is to be made at a very early date; (2) whether he is aware that the British Consul-Generalship at New York is vacant; and, if so, whether he can state how long the British Ambassadorship at Washington and the British Consul-Generalship at New York are to remain unoccupied?

Mr. BONAR LAW

These posts have not yet been filled, but I hope that the appointments will be made very shortly.
