HC Deb 28 May 1919 vol 116 c1221
66. Sir EDWARD CARSON

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether a building material supply department has been, or will be, created in Ireland?

Mr. HUGH BARRIE (Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. It is not proposed to create a separate Department in Ireland. My right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary has received an assurance from the building materials supplies section of the Ministry of Munitions that Irish requirements will receive every possible attention.

Mr. DEVLIN

Can the hon. and learned Gentleman say what "every possible attention" is? We do not believe there is any attention at all.
