HC Deb 19 May 1919 vol 116 c31
70. Mr. HIGHAM

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will state why officers in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve were asked to volunteer for the Army of Occupation, under General Routine Order No. 330; why they were then told they could not withdraw their names under Order No. 302, and yet in Order No. 364 they are told they cannot volunteer for service in the Army of Occupation; and therefore, in view of this fact, will he explain why officers in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve are not allowed to volunteer for the Army of Occupation?

Captain GUEST

A letter was written to my hon. Friend on Friday last giving him a full reply on this matter in connection with a previous question which he put down on the 1st May last.
