HC Deb 15 May 1919 vol 115 c1751
40. Mr. CHARLES BARRIE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is proposed to amend the rates at present charged by the railway companies so that they may more closely correspond to present running costs; and, if so, at what date?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I think that an advance in railway goods rates may have to be made, but I cannot say on what date. The question will fall to be considered by the Ministry of Ways and Commuications when it is established.
