HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 c1284
70. Captain TERRELL

asked whether it is the policy of the Ministry to stimulate the production of British cheese; and, in that case, how he proposes to do so?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative in so far as it applies to that season of the year during which milk is produced in excess of what is required for direct consumption purposes. The answer to the last part of the question is that the Board encourage county education authorities by means of special grants and other provisions to provide practical instruction in the art of cheese making through travelling and co-operative cheese schools.
