HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 c1284
74. Sir N. GRIFFITHS

asked the Food. Controller whether the Sale of Sweet meats (Restriction) Order, 1918, and the Sale of Sweetmeats in Theatres Order, 1918, were to be abolished on 1st March, 1919; and, if so, what steps will be taken to guard against the small trader in sweetmeats losing his trade, which trade was only kept in being by the existence of these Orders, which prevented the large firms from securing what was practically a monopoly of sugar supplies?

Mr. McCURDY

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer given upon the same subject on 26th February to the hon. and gallant Member for North Islington.
