HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 cc1283-4
69. Captain TERRELL

asked what is the reason for the poor importation of barley; and when the Government proposes to relinquish control of this branch of trade?

Mr. McCURDY

I have been asked to reply. The imports of barley have been comparatively small owing to the necessity for importing large supplies of wheat. Control of Californian, Oregon, and Chilian barleys has already been relinquished; and the question of further abandonment of control is now under attention.
