HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1920-1
34. Mr. CROOKS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the decision to convert the bonus given last February to the military into an addition to their pay will involve a reduction in the allowances for officers' children; if so, whether he is aware that this will result in great financial loss to such officers as quartermasters, who receive lower rates of pay than other officers; and whether he will give instructions that the children's allowances for quarter masters shall not be reduced?

Mr. FORSTER

I do not think my right hon. Friend need be apprehensive as to the effect of the new pay arrangements upon the emoluments of quartermasters.
