HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 c1920
33. Lieut.-Colonel WALTER GUINNESS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any steps arc proposed for reinstating the pension rights of officers of the British and! Indian Armies who retired without pension before the War, but who, owing to their service during the national emergency, would now have been qualified for pension if their service had been continuous instead of being broken?

Mr. FORSTER

It is not proposed lo alter the Regulation which gives a gratuity to a retired officer recalled to service, not a pension.

Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

When may we expect an announcement on pensions? Will it be before the Adjournment?

Mr. FORSTER

I hope so.
