25. Lieut.-Colonel Sir F. HALLasked the Minister of Transport whether Mr. W. B. Woodhouse, engineer and manager of the Yorkshire Electric Power Company, is to be one of the Commissioners under the new Electricity Bill; and whether, in view of the Act probably coming into operation in a few days' time, he will give the names of all the Commissioners who have been appointed?
§ The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Sir Eric Geddes)No Commissioners can be appointed until the Electricity (Supply) Bill becomes an Act. I am not in a position to make any statement except that, as I have already announced in 985 reply to the hon. Member on 24th November, Sir John Snell is Chief Commissioner Designate.
Sir F. HALLAre we to assume that there is no truth in the statement that has been made with reference to the gentleman referred to in the question?
§ Sir E. GEDDESI have seen no such statement.
