HC Deb 14 April 1919 vol 114 c2483
36. Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions whether any offer has been received from a private firm to take over the machine-gun factory at Burton-on-Trent, which cost over £1,000,000 to equip, and which has never been used; whether the offer has been accepted, and, if not, can he state whether this immense factory is to be put to any national use?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The answer to the question is No, Sir. The factory in question is one of a group which is being retained by the Ministry under the instructions of the War Cabinet.
