HC Deb 12 November 1918 vol 110 c2486
97. Colonel ASHLEY

asked the Pensions Minister whether the increased rate of pensions payable under the recent Royal Warrant dealing with men partially disabled in former wars is intended to be strictly limited to the specific injuries set out in Schedule 1 of the Royal Warrant of 1917; and, if so, whether he will consider a modification of this limitation in view of the fact that it results in very severely wounded men, who have not suffered amputation of a limb though seriously handicapped in the labour market, being deprived of an increase which may be granted to a man who has lost a thumb or two fingers only?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

The increased rate payable under the recent Royal Warrant is strictly limited to the specific injuries set out in the Schedule. The question whether it is possible to extend the benefit to other classes of partially disabled men is under consideration.
