§ Mr. BONAR LAWThis matter has been carefully considered by the Cabinet Committee, and I regret that it has not been found possible to make any increase in the allowances referred to.
§ Colonel YATEDoes not my right hon. Friend realise that the officers deserve the same increase as the men?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWYes, I fully realise that. I feel as strongly as my hon. and gallant Friend that whatever was given to the men should be given to the officers. This decision was arrived at on that basis.
