HC Deb 04 November 1918 vol 110 cc1784-5
41. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he is aware that among insured persons there is some apprehension lest reforms in the administration of the Poor Law should be coupled with any Bill for the establishment of a Ministry of Health; and what is the policy of His Majesty's Government in this respect?

Mr. FISHER

I can only refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to a somewhat similar question addressed to him by the hon. Member for Pontefract on the 23rd October last.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Will the right hon. Gentleman say whether the answer of the Chancellor of the Exchequer dealt with the special point I made as to whether the administration of the Poor Law is going to be coupled with the new Ministry of Health?

Sir H. DALZIEL

Can the right hon. Gentleman give us any indication of when the Ministry of Health Bill will be brought in?

Mr. FISHER

That question should be addressed to the Leader of the House.
