HC Deb 04 November 1918 vol 110 c1798
86. Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War why the War Office have commandeered the Skittles Inn, at Letchworth, as this is the only place where the workers can get a reasonable meal to suit their pockets, and is also an unlicensed inn, and is the centre where the trade unions hold their branch meetings; and why this place has been selected in preference to the Conservative Club, the Letchworth Club, and the Pixmore Hall?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply on Wednesday last to my hon. Friend the Member for Durham (North-West).
