HC Deb 06 June 1918 vol 106 c1744
59. Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for India if he has had his attention drawn to the dispute which has arisen in the Kaira district of the northern division of Gujarat between the ryots and the Commissioner on a matter of an opinion as to the condition of the crops upon which revenue has to be paid; whether he can state what is now the position of the dispute; and what, if any, steps are being taken to relieve the tension and re-establish confidence?

The SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)

I have no more recent information than that contained in the Bombay Government's communique which was referred to in the answer given on the 17th April last to a question on the same subject by my hon. Friend the Member for Roxburghshire. I am sending a copy of the communique to my hon. Friend.
