67. Mr. WILSONasked the Food Controller whether his attention has been drawn to the dissatisfaction being expressed in Watford regarding the action of the local urban district council in refusing to add further labour representatives to the local food control committee; and whether he can take any action to secure 28 recognition of this demand on the part of a large section of the community in the district?
§ Major ASTORThe Food Controller is aware of the complaints which have been made by the various Labour organisations at Watford in regard to the action of the Watford Urban District council in refusing to add further Labour representatives on the local food control committee. The matter was specially brought to the notice of the Watford Urban District Council by the Ministry on the 15th June. The Food Controller is now considering the conditions to be attached to the reappointment of food control committees in November next, and pending his general decision on that point he is not prepared to take special action in the case of the Watford Committee.
