HC Deb 17 January 1918 vol 101 c490
52. Mr. LYNCH

asked the Prime Minister whether, in accordance with the spirit of preparation for the new era of democratic reforms which will follow the War, he will take steps to secure the abolition in all public declarations of the terms of servility and abasement which it has been customary for the House of Commons to employ in communicating with Royalty?

Mr. B0NAR LAW

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. LYNCH

You persist, then, in continuing to employ these terms of servility and abasement. Are these in accordance with democratic ideals?
