HC Deb 20 February 1918 vol 103 c738
46. Mr. LYNCH

asked the Prime Minister whether the War Cabinet has considered the growing importance of the pacifist movements of this country; and whether, in order to revive the democratic spirit, he will announce that steps are being taken to secure the abolition of all hereditary privileges of any kind whatever in the British Condominions?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Bonar Law)

The answer is in the negative.

Mr. LYNCH

Would it not be well to establish a basis, however small, for the use of the word "democratic"?
