HC Deb 20 February 1918 vol 103 c741
64. Mr. FIELD

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he can state the amounts that have been approved for issue as war bonus to established Civil servants; and whether he will state if it would be possible to set up a standard scale for each class in the various Departments, as at the present time grievances are being suffered by employeé s owing to the complex details introduced by particular Departments?

Mr. BALDWIN

The present scale of war bonus payable to established Civil servants was determined by Awards Nos.17 and 18 of the Conciliation and Arbitration Board for Government Employeé s in December last (of which I will send the hon. Member copies). The terms of these awards were extended by the Treasury to all permanent classes of employeés, and I am not aware of any variation in the action of Departments in carrying them out.
