HC Deb 23 April 1918 vol 105 c832
42. Colonel BURN

asked the Minister of National Service if he will appoint a Committee to deal with the personnel of the fire brigade so as to ensure that a sufficient number of able-bodied men are left to carry on the duties, especially in those areas subject to attack by hostile aircraft, after taking those men who can be spared to serve in the Army?

Mr. BECK

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for Croydon, from which he will see that no change is contemplated which would endanger the efficiency of this important public service.
