HC Deb 19 November 1917 vol 99 cc863-5
83. Sir C. KIN LOCH-COOKE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether an Order has recently been issued authorising additions to the establishment list in the Royal Dockyards; whether the men employed in the Director of Works Department are included in the Order; and, if not, will he explain the reason for the omission?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Instructions have recently been issued authorising additions to the numbers of established workmen employed in the ship constructive, engineering, and electrical departments of the dockyards. The question of increasing the numbers of established workmen in other establishments and departments, including the Works Department, is under consideration.
