§ 1. Mr. LYNCHasked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to cases where railway directorships have been given to officials on their retirement from Government service; and whether he will take steps calculated to put an end to the practice?
§ Mr. WARDLEI am aware that there have been instances where Government officials have after retirement from the public service accepted railway directorships, but I see no reason, even if it were in my power to do so, to adopt the suggestion made by the hon. Member.
