HC Deb 19 November 1917 vol 99 c865
48. Mr. ACLAND ALLEN

asked the Prime Minister whether any decision has been come to by the Cabinet as to carrying into effect the main recommendations of the Departmental Committee on the Blind?

Mr. HAYES FISHER

My right hon. Frind has asked me to reply to this question. Yes, Sir; the War Cabinet have decided to authorise the setting up of special Departments in the Local Government Board and in the Local Government Board for Scotland respectively, and the establishment of an Advisory Committee for England and Wales and of a separate Advisory Committee for Scotland, and they have sanctioned the necessary expenditure for the immediate administrative expenses consequent on their decision.
