HC Deb 14 March 1917 vol 91 cc1064-5
64. Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office if a time- expired man, whose time expired before the passing of the second Military Service Act, is entitled to one month's furlough before rejoining up; and, if so, why such furlough has not been given to certain men in the 4th Reserve Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment, South Camp, Ripon?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Time-expired soldiers who had left the Colours prior to the passing of the Military Service Act (Session 2) of 1916 are not entitled to one month's furlough before joining up.

Mr. GOLDSTONE

Are men who have not a month's furlough, to which they are entitled, precluded from having additional leave because they had had a month's furlough.

Mr. MACPHERSON

My hon. Friend is under a misapprehension. These men are not entitled to a month's furlough.
