HC Deb 19 June 1917 vol 94 cc1606-7
45. Mr. R. GWYNNE

asked the Prime Minister if he is aware that dissatisfaction prevails amongst employers in regard to many of the names selected as representing employers on the Commissions of in quiry on industrial unrest; whether, in view of the fact that the Federation of British Industries is by far the largest re presentative body of producing industry in the country, it has been consulted in regard to the appointments made; and, if not, will he arrange for this body to be asked to nominate representatives?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. In view of the desirability of appointing Commissioners at the earliest possible date it was not practicable to invite industrial associations to submit nominations.
