HC Deb 04 July 1917 vol 95 c1105
70. Mr. LEES SMITH

asked the Prime Prime Minister whether the principle that he laid down in his speech at Glasgow that the dominant factor in determining the future of uncivilised Colonies should be the wishes of the natives of these Colonies is intended to be applied to the Colonies of Belgium, France, Portugal, Italy, and the United Kingdom as well as to those of Germany?

Mr. BONAR LAW

If the hon. Member had read the Prime Minister's speech carefully he would have observed that my right hon. Friend's reference was to the Colonies of which Germany was possessed before the War.
