HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 cc1287-8
39. Sir HENRY CRAIK

asked the Minister of Munitions whether he will explain why permission has been given to a Mr. George Green to build a picture palace costing £3,000 at Boswell Park, Ayr, while permission has been refused to equip a house for a Red Gross hospital in another part of Scotland because the cost exceeds £500?

Mr. KELLAWAY

There is no record in the Ministry of Munitions of an application for, or of the issue of a licence for, the erection of a picture palace at Ayr. The second case to which the hon. Member refers cannot be identified from the details given. If he will be good enough to send me further particulars, I shall be glad to inquire into it.
